Crossgate’s signature and encryption procedures are compliant with tax laws and make it possible for businesses to send paperless documents and also provide for the pre-tax allowance of the receiver.
Digital fingerprint of the document is created by the B.I.P™ The electronic signature is based on Public Key Encryption, which uses a special pair of keys. First, a digital fingerprint of the document is created by the B.I.P. before the document is transferred to the receipt receiver. With a public signature key and a private signature key which allows for the authentication of the signature, the electronically signed document can be securely transferred and thus verified by the receiver.
fully automatic verification by Crossgate Authentication of the signature can either be done by the receiver as a manual verification or by Crossgate with a fully automatic verification. This Crossgate service requires no effort on the part of the receipt receiver. The verification is carried out in an organizationally separated downstream process.

The B.I.P.™ eSign Service Center operates Software SecSignerServer® from Seccommerce for the digital signature of the documents.
The verification takes place at the Trust-Center of the German Telekom AG with the help of their Telesec-PKS signature card.
The signature system operates using SUN Hardware with the operating system Solaris 2.10 in a particularly secure environment.
